MATERIALS FOR TURNED PARTS AND MILLED PARTS MADE OF PLASTIC
Due to the variety of plastics, it is difficult to find the right materials for turned and milled plastic parts. This is exactly where we are your competent partner. Since we process almost every plastic, we have extensive experience with each of these materials and are therefore able to offer you comprehensive advice for your product. Just give us a call.
The materials used for turned and milled plastic parts can also be processed in our company with additives such as glass fibre or carbon reinforced. Examples: PA6 GF 30, PA6 oil, PTFE – glass, PEEK – carbon, POM-C GF 30 etc.
On this page we have listed an excerpt of the materials from which we manufacture plastic turned parts as standard. Of course, we also process other, unlisted plastics such as PPSU or PA12.

- good spring properties
- chemically resistant
- More heat-resistant than POM-C
Features of POM KTW W270:
- Approved for safe use in drinking water applications
- EU/FDA compliant
- high stability
- good spring properties
- chemically resistant
Properties of POM + PTFE
- improved friction behaviour due to the addition of PTFE powder
- high stability
- good spring properties
- chemically resistant
Properties of POM GF30
- improved strength and stiffness due to the addition of glass fibre
- good spring properties
- chemically resistant
PA6 is a construction plastic which, due to its high moisture absorption, achieves a tough/hard condition and therefore has good sliding properties, high abrasion resistance and high impact strength. This material is used for plastic turned parts, e. g. in the automotive, mechanical engineering and furniture industries. PA6 is available in numerous variants such as PA6-E, PA6-G, PA6 GF30.
Properties of PA6-E (extruded)
- high abrasion resistance
- very good noise and vibration damping
- good sliding properties
- good weldability
- high mechanical strength
- high toughness
Properties of PA6-G (casting)
- slightly higher hardness than PA6-E
- slightly higher strength than PA6-E
- high toughness even at low temperatures
Properties of PA6 GG30 (glass fibre reinforced)
- higher stiffness
- higher firmness
- better heat resistance
- reduced impact strength
PA6.6 is the hardest material among unreinforced polyamides,
Stiffness, abrasion resistance and heat resistance. Due to the wide temperature range, in which strength and hardness are extremely high, this plastic is often used for plain bearing bushings, belt pulleys, pulleys or rings and is therefore of interest for mechanical engineering, vehicle construction and tank and apparatus engineering. We process the PA6.6 for our turned parts made of plastic as non-reinforced extrudate, or as glass-fibre-reinforced extrudate.
PA6.6-E Features
- high continuous service temperature
- high moisture absorption
- good weldability
- good adhesive properties
- high abrasion resistance
- good sliding properties
- high wear resistance
PA6.6 GF30 Features PA6.6
- slightly higher hardness than PA6.6-E
- slightly higher strength than PA66. -E
PC is a transparent plastic that is more versatile in its use. It has good electrical insulating properties, is very tough and heat resistant.
- good heat resistance
- good electrical insulation properties
- sterilizable
- very tough
- transparent
PET is a good sliding material, which stands out due to its high mechanical strength and good dimensional stability. It is often used in the field of mechanical engineering, where its high dimensional stability makes it very suitable for plastic turned parts.
- very good heat resistance
- dimensional stability
- high impact strength at low temperatures
- high mechanical strength
HIGH-TEMPERATURE PLASTICS
PVFD is used as a material in many areas such as medical technology, mechanical engineering, the electrical industry and transport and conveying technology. In addition to good mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, the material also has very good chemical resistance.
- High UV resistance
- Weatherproof
- high toughness
- well weldable
PTFE has a low strength, stiffness and hardness, but good impact strength. Other, even sticky substances do not adhere to its surface and it is not wetted by liquids. PTFE has excellent sliding properties.
Its limits of application range from -200 to 250 °C continuous temperature, for a short time up to 300 °C.
- acid-resistant
- low friction coefficient
- high thermal expansion
- high continuous service temperature
PEEK is one of the high performance plastics and can be used in many areas. This material is often used for plastic turned parts where high demands are made on temperature, electrical insulation properties and high wear resistance.
